It’s Time to Say Goodbye, Universal Analytics

By now you’ve heard the news— Google is putting Universal Analytics (UA) to rest and replacing it with the new and improved version, Google Analytics 4 (GA4). As of July 1, UA will no longer process data. Our team is excited to ring in this new era of event tracking-focused analytics, but we feel it wouldn’t be right to just move on without properly honoring UA’s purpose, service and, well, life! So we’re throwing a celebration of life to bid Universal Analytics adieu. As the wise words go, “don’t cry it’s over, smile because it happened.”

And if you haven’t already, we recommend setting up your GA4 account to start collecting historical data you would otherwise miss out on once this change happens.

What You Can Expect At UA’s Celebration of Life

We’re inviting fellow industry professionals, friends and family to share in the festivities with us! We’ll start with a small program including a thoughtful eulogy given by Lisa, a Blue Compass Digital Marketing Strategist, followed by a commemorative activity. If compelled, we welcome attendees to bring personal stories and memories (good and not so good) to remember Universal Analytics and to say a personal goodbye to the platform. We’ll end with a moment of silence, a thank you and heave a sigh of relief.

Since this is a celebration of life and not a funeral, no need to wear black, but if that’s how you wish to pay your respects, feel free! After the ceremony there will be food and drinks paired with plenty of opportunity to socialize. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

The Event Venue

The event will be held at the West48 Event Center, located at 1601 48th St. in West Des Moines. The celebration will begin at 2:00 PM and end at 4:00 PM.
